A solar charger collects energy from your solar panels and stores it in your batteries. With the latest and fastest technology, SmartSolar maximizes this energy harvest through intelligent control, so that a full charge is achieved in the shortest possible time. SmartSolar keeps the battery in good condition and thus extends its life.

The SmartSolar charge controller will recharge even a very empty battery. It can operate with a battery voltage as low as 0 Volts, provided the cells are not permanently sulphated or otherwise damaged.
Victron SmartSolar MPPT 75/10 12/24V is a solar charger for 12V or 24V systems (autoselect). The maximum nominal PV power transmitted by the solar charger at a 12V system voltage is 145W, and at a 24V system voltage it is 290W. The maximum PV no-load voltage of this solar charger is 75V. The SmartSolar solar charge controllers have a programmable battery charging algorithm, and standard Bluetooth Smart built-in to set up the solar charger and monitor solar yield.

Ultra-fast Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT)
Especially when it is cloudy and the light intensity is constantly changing, an ultra-fast MPPT controller improves energy yield by up to 30% compared to PWM charge controllers and up to 10% compared to slower MPPT controllers.

BatteryLife: intelligent battery management
If a solar charge controller cannot fully recharge the battery in one day, the result is often that the battery constantly fluctuates between 'partially charged' and 'fully discharged'. This condition (not a regular full charge) will irreparably damage a lead-acid battery within weeks or months. The BatteryLife algorithm monitors the state of charge of the battery and, if necessary, increases the load disconnect level slightly from day to day (by disconnecting the load earlier) until the harvested solar energy is enough to charge the battery to almost 100% to charge. From that point on, the load disconnect level is modulated so that the battery is charged to almost full 100% about once a week.

Programmable battery charging algorithm
The charge controller starts a new charge cycle every morning, as soon as the sun starts to shine, based on a three-step charging process: Bulk - Absorption - Float. The battery charging algorithm is programmable with a set of default settings or user-defined settings.

Internal temperature sensor
Compensates for temperature absorption and float charging voltages.

Load output
Over-discharge of the battery can be prevented by connecting all loads to the load output. The load output disconnects the load when the battery is discharged to a preset voltage. (48V model: interface with a relay) Alternatively, the BatteryLife intelligent battery management algorithm can be selected. The load output can be configured via Bluetooth or via VE.Direct and is short circuit proof.

Day/night timing and light dimming option
The Streetlight function allows you to automatically control the night lighting, timing and dimming option. When the Streetlight function is enabled, a timer program can be created using 'sunset' and 'sunrise' as anchor points for the timer program. The advantage of this is that the program adapts to the length of the night as it changes with the season.
