The Victron Quattro-II 24/5000/120 inverter/charger combination, like the MultiPlus, is a powerful pure sine wave inverter, an advanced battery charger with adaptive charge technology, and fast AC transfer switches in a single compact housing. Unlike the MultiPlus, the Quattro accepts two AC inputs and automatically connects to the active source. Its many special features include hybrid PowerAssist technology, and multiple system integration functions such as three- or single-phase control and parallel control.

AC inputs: 2 | AC outlets: 2
PowerControl: yes | PowerAssist: yes | Transfer switch: 50A/50A
Charging current house battery: 120A | Charging current starter battery: no
Maximum switching current:
Recommended battery capacity: 350 - 700 Ah
Recommended DC fuse: 400A
Battery connection: Four M8 bolts (2 positive and 2 negative terminals)
Battery cable (not included)
NB! : the diameter (mm²) of the battery cables is based on a maximum length of 5 metres.
The Quattro 24/5000/120 combines a powerful 5000 VA (4000 Watt) pure sine wave inverter, an advanced 120 amp adaptive charging technology battery charger, and a dual high-speed AC transfer switch in a single compact metal housing. Quattros are equipped with two (2) AC inputs to which different 230V power sources can be connected and automatically switched to priority. This Quattro is supplied without the necessary 2x 50mm² cables and has four (4) M8 bolts (2 positive and 2 negative connections) for the battery connection.
All Quattro models in this series are equipped with PowerControl and PowerAssist functionality. All models are also suitable for three-phase and parallel connection. This model has a maximum switching current of 2x 50A. Victron Energy's inverter/chargers are designed for professional use. They are suitable for a variety of devices with high and low starting powers. The Quattro is a multifunctional energy system with sine wave inverter, battery charger and AC transfer switches for two AC inputs. The batteries are safely charged, even if the quality of the power supply is low.
Proven reliability
The full bridge plus toroidal transformer topology has proven to be very reliable for many years. The inverter is short-circuit proof and protects against overheating whether due to overload or high ambient temperature.
PowerControl - Maximize use of limited generator, shore or mains power
The Quattro is a very powerful battery charger. This means a heavy load for the generator or shore connection (up to 16A per 5kVA Quattro at 230VAC). A current limit can be set for each AC input. The Quattro then takes other power consumers into account and only uses the power that is still 'left' for charging, so that the generator or shore connection is not overloaded.
PowerAssist – Do more with your generator or shore power
This function adds an extra dimension to the PowerControl principle by allowing the Quattro to supplement the capacity of the alternative source. Where peak power is often only needed for a short time, the Quattro ensures that insufficient grid or generator power is immediately compensated with power from the battery. If the load decreases, the reserve current is used to recharge the battery.
High start-up power
Required to start loads with high inrush current such as voltage converters for LED lamps, halogen lamps or power tools.
Automatic and uninterrupted switching (UPS function)
If the power fails or if the power supply is interrupted via shore or a generator, the inverter in the Quattro is automatically activated to provide power to the connected loads. This happens so fast (less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic devices can continue to function undisturbed.
Two AC outlets
The main output has uninterruptible functionality. The Quattro takes over the power supply of the connected loads in the event of a power failure or if the generator/shore power is interrupted. This happens so fast (less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic devices can continue to function undisturbed. The second output only becomes active if AC voltage is available at one of the inputs of the Quattro. Loads that should not discharge the battery, such as a water heater, can be connected to this output.
Virtually unlimited power thanks to parallel connection
Up to 6 Quattro units can be connected in parallel. For example, with six 48/10000/140 units, an output power of 48kW / 60kVA with 840A charging capacity can be achieved.
Three-phase switching
Three units can be configured for three-phase output. But that's not all: up to 6 sets of three units can be connected in parallel for an inverter power of 144kW / 180kVA and a charging capacity of over 2500A.
Search Mode (search mode)
When the 'search mode' is switched on, the inverter's no-load power consumption is reduced by approx. 70%. The 'search mode' means that the Quattro is switched off when there is no load or when it is very low. Every 2 seconds the Quattro will switch on briefly. If the output current exceeds a set level, the inverter continues to operate. If not, the inverter turns off again.
AES (Automatic Economy Switch)
Instead of 'search mode', the AES mode can also be selected. When this setting is enabled, the current consumption at no load and low load is reduced by approx. 20% by 'narrowing' the sine voltage. The AES mode is not adjustable with DIP switches and can only be used in 'stand alone' configuration.
Programmable relay (3x)
Quattros are equipped with three (3) programmable relays, which can be set, for example, as a general alarm, for DC undervoltage or start/stop function for a generator. By default, a relay is set as an alarm relay, which means that the relay is de-energized in the event of an alarm or a pre-alarm (inverter almost too hot, ripple voltage on the input almost too high, battery voltage almost too low).
Solar energy: alternating current available at all times - even during a mains failure
The Quattro can be used in both off-grid and grid-connected PV and other alternative energy systems. Software to detect power loss is available.
Monitoring and control locally or remotely - optional
Monitor and control your Quattro system locally (LAN) or remotely over the Internet from anywhere in the world with the free VRM app and the free VRM portal website. Access is possible for multiple operating systems via a telephone, tablet, laptop or PC. Several options are available: Battery Monitor (BMV), Multi-control panel, Color Control GX and other GX communication devices, VE.Bus Smart Dongle for smartphone or tablet (Bluetooth Smart) and with an interface cable for laptop or PC (USB or RS232). From customizing the Quattro to setting up a Geofence for rental vehicles and more, the level of control is endless. To get an impression of the VRM (Victron Remote Management) website, visit: Victron Remote Management and click on the 'Try Our Demo' button. Victron Remote Management (VRM) is a free service from Victron Energy for remote monitoring of electrical equipment around the world.
Configuration locally or remotely
> In the case of a stand-alone application, if the settings need to be changed, this can be done within minutes via a DIP switch setting procedure.
> Parallel and three-phase applications can be configured with the VE.Bus Quick Configure and VE.Bus System Configurator software.
> Off grid, grid interactive and self-consumption applications, with inverters and/or MPPT solar chargers, can be configured with assistants (dedicated software for specific applications).
> When connected to the Ethernet, systems with a Color Control GX and other GX communication devices can be accessed and settings can be changed.
