More info

Like the MultiPlus, the Victron Quattro 24/3000/70 inverter/charger combination is a powerful pure sine wave inverter, an advanced battery charger with adaptive charge technology, and fast AC toggle switches in a single compact housing. Unlike the MultiPlus, the Quattro accepts two AC inputs, and automatically connects to the active source. Its many special features include hybrid PowerAssist technology, and multiple system integration features such as three- or single-phase control and parallel control. All Quattros have a solid steel/aluminium housing (protection class IP21).

Quattro 24/3000/70 inverter/charger specifications:

AC Inputs: 2 | AC outputs: 2
PowerControl: yes | PowerAssist: yes | Transfer switch: 50A/50A
Charging current house battery: 70A | Charging current starter battery: 4A
Maximum forward current: 2 x 50A
Recommended battery capacity: 350 - 700 Ah
Recommended DC fuse: 300
Battery connection: Four M8 bolts (2 positive and 2 negative connections)
Battery cable (not included) 50 mm² o 2x 25 mm²
NB! : the diameter (mm²) of the battery cables is based on a maximum length of 5 meters.

The Quattro 24/3000/70 combines a powerful 3000 VA (2400 Watts) pure sine wave inverter, an advanced battery charger with 70 Amps adaptive charging technology, and a dual super-fast AC changeover switch in a single compact metal housing. Quattros are equipped with two (2) AC inputs to which various 230V power sources can be connected and automatically switched on priority. This Quattro is supplied without the required 50mm² or 2x 25mm² cables and has four (4) M8 bolts (2 positive and 2 negative connections) for the battery connection.

All Quattro models from this series are equipped with PowerControl and PowerAssist functionality. All models are also suitable for three-phase and parallel connection. This model has a maximum forward current of 2x 50A. Victron Energy's inverter/chargers are designed for professional use. They are suitable for a variety of devices with high and low starting powers. The Quattro is a multifunctional energy system with a sine wave inverter, battery charger and AC transfer switches for two AC inputs. The batteries are safely charged, even if the quality of the power supply is low.

Proven reliability
The full bridge plus toroidal transformer topology has proven itself very reliable for many years. The inverter is short-circuit proof and protects against overheating, whether due to overload or high ambient temperature.

PowerControl - Maximum utilization of limited aggregate, shore or grid power
The Quattro is a very powerful battery charger. That means a heavy load for the generator or shore connection (up to 16A per 5kVA Quattro at 230VAC). A current limit can be set for each AC input. The Quattro then takes other power consumers into account and only uses the power that is 'left' for charging, so that the generator or shore connection is not overloaded.

PowerAssist – Do more with your generator or shore power
This function adds an extra dimension to the PowerControl principle as the Quattro supplements the capacity of the alternative source. Where peak power is often only needed for a short time, the Quattro ensures that insufficient mains or aggregate power is immediately compensated with current from the battery. When the load decreases, the reserve current is used to recharge the battery.

High start-up power
Required to start loads with high inrush current, such as voltage converters for LED lamps, halogen lamps or power tools.

Automatic and uninterrupted switching (UPS function)
In the event of a power failure or if the power supply from the shore or a generator is interrupted, the inverter in the Quattro is automatically activated to provide power to the connected loads. This happens so quickly (in less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic devices can continue to function undisturbed.

Two AC inputs with integrated transfer switch
The Quattro can be connected to two independent AC sources, for example the mains and a generator, or two generators. The Quattro automatically switches to the active source.

Two AC outputs
The main output has uninterrupted functionality. The Quattro takes over the power supply of the connected loads in the event of a power failure or if the generator/shore power is interrupted. This happens so quickly (in less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic devices can continue to function undisturbed. The second output only becomes active if AC voltage is available at one of the inputs of the Quattro. Loads that should not discharge the battery, such as a water heater, can be connected to this output.

Virtually unlimited power thanks to parallel connection
Up to 6 Quattro units can be connected in parallel. For example, with six 48/10000/140 units, an output power of 48kW / 60kVA with 840A charging capacity can be achieved.

Three-phase switching
Three units can be configured for three-phase output. But that's not all: up to 6 sets of three units can be paralleled for an inverter power of 144kW / 180kVA and a charging capacity of more than 2500A.

Search Mode
When 'search mode' is enabled, the inverter power consumption at no load is reduced by approximately 70%. The 'search mode' means that the Quattro is switched off when there is no load or when it is very low. The Quattro will switch on for a moment every 2 seconds. If the output current exceeds a set level, the inverter continues to operate. If not, the inverter switches off again.

AES (Automatic Economy Switch)
Instead of 'search mode', the AES mode can also be selected. When this setting is enabled, the power consumption at no load and low load is reduced by approx. 20% by 'narrowing' the sine wave voltage. The AES mode is not adjustable with DIP switches and is only applicable in 'stand alone' configuration.

Programmable relay (3x)
Quattros are equipped with three (3) pieces of programmable relays, which can be set for example as general alarm, for DC undervoltage or start/stop function for a generator. By default, a relay is set as an alarm relay, ie the relay is de-energized in the event of an alarm or a pre-alarm (inverter almost too hot, input ripple voltage almost too high, battery voltage almost too low).

Solar energy: alternating current always available - even during a mains failure
The Quattro can be used in both autonomous and grid-connected PV and other alternative energy systems. Software to detect loss of mains power is available.

Local or remote monitoring and control - optional
Monitor and control your Quattro system locally (LAN) or remotely via the internet from around the world with the free VRM app and the free VRM portal website. Access is possible for multiple operating systems via a phone, tablet, laptop or PC. Several options are available: Battery Monitor (BMV), Multi-Control Panel, Color Control GX and other GX communication devices, VE.Bus Smart Dongle for smartphone or tablet (Bluetooth Smart) and with an interface cable for laptop or PC (USB or RS232 ). The level of control from customizing the Quattro to setting up a rental vehicle Geofence and more is endless. To get an impression of the VRM (Victron Remote Management) website, visit: Victron Remote Management and click on the 'Try Our Demo' button. Victron Remote Management (VRM) is a free service from Victron Energy for remote monitoring of electrical equipment around the world.

Local or remote configuration
- If, in the case of a stand alone application, the settings need to be changed, this can be done within a few minutes via a DIP switch setting procedure.
- Parallel and three-phase applications can be configured with VE.Bus Quick Configure and VE.Bus System Configurator software.
- Autonomous, grid-interactive and self-consumption applications, with inverters and/or MPPT solar chargers, can be configured with assistants (dedicated software for specific applications).
- When connected to the Ethernet, systems with a Color Control GX and other GX communication devices can be accessed and settings can be changed.
