More info

The Victron MultiPlus 24/5000/120 inverter/charger combination is a powerful sine wave inverter, an advanced battery charger with adaptive charging technology and a fast AC switch in a single compact housing. Due to the steel/aluminum housing (protection class IP21), these MultiPlus models are easy to recognize.

MultiPlus 24/5000/120 inverter/charger specifications:Input voltage: 230VAC and 24VDC | Output voltage: 230VACUUM Power output: 5000VA / 4000W | Peak: 10000WAC inputs: 1 | AC outputs: 2

Battery connection: Four M8 bolts (2 positive and 2 negative connections)
Battery cable (not included): 95mm² or 2x 50mm²

Note! : The diameter (mm²) of the battery cables is based on a maximum length of 5 meters.

The MultiPlus 24/5000/120 is a combination of a  powerful pure sine wave converter with a power of 5000 VA (4000 Watts), an advanced battery charger with adaptive charging technology of 120 Amps, and a super-fast AC switch in a single compact metal housing. This MultiPlus comes without the necessary 95mm² or 2x 50mm² cables and has four (4) M8 bolts (2 positive and 2 negative connections) for the battery connection.

All MultiPlus models from this series are equipped with a PowerControl and PowerAssist functionality. All models are also suitable for three-phase and parallel circuitry. This model has a maximum forwarding current of 100A. Victron Energy inverter/chargers are designed for professional use. They are suitable for a variety of devices with high and low starting powers. The MultiPlus is a multifunctional energy system with sine wave inverter, battery charger and AC transfer switch. The batteries are safely charged, even if the quality of the power supply is low.

Proven reliability

The full-bridge plus toroid transformer topology has proven itself very reliably for many years. The inverter is resistant to short circuits and protects against overheating, regardless of whether this occurs due to overload or a high ambient temperature.

PowerControl - Maximum use of limited generator, shore or mains power

With the Digital Multi Control control panel, a maximum aggregate or shore power can be set. The MultiPlus then takes other power consumers into account and only uses the current that is still 'left' for charging, so that the generator or shore connection is not overloaded.

PowerAssist – Do more with your generator or shore power

Where peak current is often only needed for a short time, the MultiPlus ensures that insufficient shore or aggregate power is immediately replenished with power from the battery. If the load decreases, the reserve current is used to recharge the battery.

High start-up power

Required to start loads with high inrush current, such as voltage converters for LED lamps, halogen lamps or power tools.

Automatic and interruption-free switching (UPS function)

If the power fails or if the power supply via shore or a generator is interrupted, the inverter in the Multi is automatically activated to provide power to the connected loads. This happens so fast (in less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic devices can continue to function undisturbed.

Two AC outputs (the second output is only available on models of 3 kVA and above)

The main output has an interruption-free functionality. The second auxiliary output switches off when no external AC source is available, and thus only becomes active if an AC voltage is available on the AC input of the MultiPlus. Heavy loads that should not discharge the battery, such as a water heater, can be connected to this output.

Virtually unlimited power thanks to parallel connection

Up to six Multis can be connected in parallel to deliver greater power. Power supply via alternating current or single-phase current is also possible. On the datasheets you can see which models do and do not have these options.

Three-phase circuit

In addition to the parallel circuit, three units of the same model can be configured for three-phase output. But that's not all: up to 6 sets of three units can be connected in parallel for an inverter power of 75 kW / 90 kVA and a charging capacity of more than 2000A.

Search Mode

When search mode is activated, the power consumption of the inverter is reduced by approx. 70% at no load. The 'search mode' means that the Multi is switched off if there is no load or if it is very low. Every 2 seconds the Multi will switch on briefly. If the output current exceeds a set level, the inverter will continue to work. If not, the inverter will turn off again.

AES (Automatic Economy Switch)

Instead of 'search mode' you can also choose the AES mode. When this setting is enabled, the power consumption at no load and low load is reduced by approx. 20% by 'narrowing' the sine wave voltage. The AES mode is not adjustable with DIP switches and is only applicable in 'stand alone' configuration.

Programmable relays

The programmable relay is set as an alarm relay by default, that is, the relay becomes powerless in case of an alarm or a pre-alarm (inverter almost too hot, ripple voltage on the input almost too high, battery voltage almost too low).

Solar energy: AC voltage always available - even during a grid failure

The MultiPlus can be used in both autonomous and grid-connected PV and other alternative energy systems. Software to detect loss of power supply is available.

Monitoring and control locally or remotely - optional

Monitor and control your MultiPlus system locally (LAN) or remotely over the Internet from around the world with the free VRM app and the free VRM portal website. Access is possible for multiple operating systems via a phone, tablet, laptop or PC. There are multiple options available: Battery Monitor (BMV), Multi-control panel, Color Control GX and other GX communication devices, VE. Bus Smart Dongle for smartphone or tablet (Bluetooth Smart) and with an interface cable for laptop or PC (USB or RS232). The level of control from customizing the MultiPlus to setting up a Geofence for rental vehicles and more is endless. To get an impression of the VRM (Victron Remote Management) website, visit: Victron Remote Management  and click on the 'Try Our Demo' button. Victron Remote Management (VRM) is a free service from Victron Energy for remote monitoring of electrical equipment around the world.

Configuration locally or remotely

> In the case of a stand-alone application, if the settings need to be changed, this can be done within minutes via a DIP switch setup procedure.> Parallel and three-phase applications can be configured with the VE software. Bus Quick Configure and VE. Bus System Configurator.> Autonomous, grid-interactive and proprietary consumption applications, with inverters and/or MPPT solar chargers, can be configured with assistants (application-oriented software for specific applications).> When connected to the Ethernet, systems with a Color Control GX and other GX communication devices are accessible and settings can be changed.

Compact models 800VA - 5000VA

The MultiPlus C models are available in the power values 800VA, 1200VA, 1600VA, 3000VA in 12V and 24V voltage values, and the power values 3000VA, 5000VA in 48V.
